Fundraising Opportunities for Local Teams

This information is intended to be a guide to funding opportunities for Ulster Softball clubs, in particular in the Belfast area. It is in no way an exhaustive list and some information may not be uptodate. If you have any updates/changes please E-mail these to chair@softballulster.com.

Belfast City Council: The Belfast City council have many different grants from under £1000-£10000. See their support for sport webpages here and their festival funding webpages here. The council also offer other types of support for clubs such as advice on media, setting up, pitch hire, strategic plans see links here.

Sport NI: Awards for sport are available from Sport NI, some are available by clubs as softball is a recognised sport in the UK. There is currently an equipment grant available from £1000-10000. Deadline is 6th January 2010, and the money should be spent by March.

Mars Refuel: Offers grants up to £500

Make it Happen Grant Programme:  Funding £500-10000 available. Applications open till March 2011 when projects must be completed. Funds 11-21 year olds in sporting, recreation or arts based projects to develop community cohesion, and/or address conflict resolution for one off or lasting projects. Cash for Clubs: Funding of £250,500, 1000 available for sports clubs. Areas applicable: equipment, improving facilities, gaining coaching qualifications or help in general sustainability. Look for sports playing an active role in the community. No deadlines.

Community Foundation for NI: They have in the past had funds for community based events.

Skills Active: Funding opportunties particularly for coaching courses maybe found through the skills active webpages. These webpages also give some insight into the national direction of skills in sport.
