In March 2008 Softball Ulster was recognised by Softball Ireland as a regional representative for the sport of softball in Ulster. The goal of Softball Ulster is to develop the sport in Ulster, provide the support and structure for clubs and teams in the counties of Ulster and represent its membership in dealings with Softball Ireland.
Softball is a cross-community sport which is open to all ages and fitness levels. In Ulster we currently play Slowpitch Softball with mixed (men and women) teams, adding a social dimension to the sport.
We follow the ASA rules which can be found here.

The first Ulster League games have been played tonight. Brawlers v. Aviators and Elks v. Sliders. There was still some snow in some places around the pitches but the grass held well. Dry but very cold and the short days meant it was dark at the end of the games. However Ulster softballers enjoyed the first competition excitement again and are awaiting better weather and more light in the evenings.
